What the viewer shows
- Channel names exactly as players will display them — including the “Untitled” entries that reveal metadata gaps.
- Groups with counts, plus a group filter and text search for navigating thousand-entry files.
- Metadata per entry: group, logo reference, and EPG identifier where present.
- Stream URLs, partially masked: host and path stay visible while query strings collapse to an ellipsis, so structure is inspectable without exposing tokens on screen.
When viewing beats validating
- Confirming a competition, region, or language is actually present before match day.
- Auditing group hygiene before importing into a player that respects groups.
- Checking
tvg-idcoverage before attaching an EPG guide. - Previewing an unknown list's contents without committing it to any player.
What the viewer cannot tell you
- Whether entries play — viewing is static inspection. The IPTV test checks reachability.
- Full files beyond the display cap: the first 100 matching entries render, so page through filters for the rest on very large lists.
- Group counts reflect the pasted content only. A filtered view (search or group selected) intentionally narrows what you see — clear filters before concluding anything about the whole file.
- Masked tokens can't be copied back out here by design — edit the source file, not the viewer, for URL surgery (see the M3U editor).
FAQ
Why are URLs masked? Query strings routinely carry access tokens. Masking keeps screensharing and shoulder-surfing from leaking access while preserving everything needed for structural inspection of names, groups, and metadata.
Can I view a list directly from its URL? Paste the file's text here. For URL-level checks (status, headers, counts), use the IPTV test — the two tools split the job deliberately.
Is pasted content uploaded? No. Everything runs locally in the browser session.
Why do some entries show as Untitled? Their EXTINF records carry no display name — the file parses, but the metadata is missing upstream. Rename them in the M3U editor or fix the source export.
Method and limits
Methodology: purely local parsing and filtering — no network requests, no uploads. Display caps at the first 100 matching entries to keep large files responsive; narrow with search or group filters to see the rest.
